The driver’s license service at the Greene County treasurer’s office will be closed next week, July 20-24, according to county treasurer Donna Lawson. County residents should plan ahead to avoid inconvenience.
Lawson presented her semi annual budget report to the county board of supervisors on Monday. That report is posted under the Calendar/Agenda tab at GreeneCountyNewsOnline.
During that conversation, she told the supervisors of the office closure. She also briefed the supervisors on the enhanced “REAL ID” cards now being issued. Holders of the REAL ID have provided enough identification documents to meet federal security requirements to enter federally regulated commercial aircraft. It is now accepted to cross the Canadian border by vehicle without showing a passport.
